Summers in the Lowcountry can get incredibly humid, making it uncomfortable to be outdoors for long periods of time. Contrastingly, while winters are mild in South Carolina, they’re certainly not ideal to be outside for long periods of time and you’d likely get shivery. April is the perfect time of the year when things are warm but not suffocatingly hot. Flowers are in bloom, the sun is shining, and everything feels a-okay! Daily temperatures typically range from 71°F to 77°F, rarely falling below 61°F or exceeding 84°F, talk about perfection!
Timing
So long as you are not coming around the time of an Easter weekend, April tends to be a bit less busy than other months in the tourist season of Charleston. Many families with kids do not take a vacation in April, preferring to wait until the end of the school year and warmer months to take time off, making more room for those looking to visit in April! Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival

The Annual Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival presented by East Cooper Medical Center and Harris Teeter is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year! The festival pays tribute to Mount Pleasant’s local shrimping and fishing industry, offering a boat parade, live music, craft show and lots of free activities with the picturesque Ravenel Bridge and Charleston Harbor for a backdrop!
