What Tenants Should Keep:

  • Current lease agreement
  • Move-in inspection checklist/photos
  • Rent payment receipts (especially if paying by check or money order)
  • Maintenance request confirmations
  • Correspondence with your property manager

What Owners Should Keep:

  • Executed lease agreements for all tenants
  • Maintenance logs and repair receipts
  • Deposit records and refund statements
  • Vendor contracts (landscaping, pest control, etc.)
  • Income and expense reports for tax season
